Schoolboy injured by bus to receive accident compensation
16:41:00 Thursday 14th May 2009A schoolboy who was dragged under the wheels of a London bus when his clothes became caught in it has been awarded compensation.
When the case was heard in court, a London bus company admitted liability for the accident which took place in October 2006 in the Thornton Heath area of Croydon, south London.
The schoolboy suffered injuries to his spine, leg and hip as a result of the accident and still suffers very intense nightmares.
The boy told his local newspaper: "I saw the bus. I was down the street. I made a run for it, missed it and knocked on the window.
"The driver looked at me and carried on driving. So I started walking away and the bottom of my trousers got caught and it happened."
The boy’s extensive injuries required hours of operations, including some plastic surgery. The size of the payout has yet to be determined by the judge.
